Client: Well-established, multi-billion dollar (international) fully integrated biopharmaceutical company that is focused on developing and commercially marketing innovative therapies addressing oncology and neurological diseases.
The Director Market Access, Strategic Planning & Payer Marketing, is responsible for developing the strategies to drive market access for the specific named brands in commercial and government channels.
This role will also be responsible for identifying new and innovative opportunities. The role leads deployment of appropriate tactics and monitoring of critical success factors to ensure progress and successful outcomes against the plan are being achieved. This position is highly visible and will report directly into the SVP of the Americas Neurology Business Unit and serves on the group’s executive leadership team.
The Director is the primary point of contact in Market Access and accountable for ensuring brand imperatives are being pursued and met effectively by the Market Access team.
You will interact with key stakeholders including the Market Access functions, Brand and Sales leadership, field-based RAMs and NAMs, GPO, Field Reimbursement Managers, Medical Affairs, Legal, etc.
Lead Market Access strategic planning for specific brands; along with brand teams, set strategic imperatives and monitors progress against those imperatives; deliver desired outcomes and identify solutions to overcome challenges to those outcomes.
Drive strategic projects identified as critical to the business.
Translate brand strategic imperatives and tactics into the necessary payer and commercial tactics (collateral, playbooks, publication/media plan, etc.).
Collaborate with relevant Brand management to provide payer and commercial input to the respective brands, and keep both the brand teams and Market Access teams aware of important status or other matters.
BS/BA required, MBA preferred
10+ years progressive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
3+years experience in market access and account mgmt.
Excellent understanding of the dynamics of the biopharma market place
Experience with CNS therapies and/or specialty pharmaceuticals a plus
A track record consisting of prior sales, sales management, marketing, and/or major account management
Demonstrated managed markets/customer segment knowledge
Strategic thinker with demonstrated problem solving capability
Effective project management skills
Clear communicator with matrix leadership capabilities
Willingness to travel up to 40%
