Job Description
Looking to hire a Director of Sales Development- $80-100k base + commission bonus. This is a new position for a new branch they are opening in Northern CA. They are wanting this person to recruit/hire employees. 10-15 years exp.
Director of Sales & Business development, San Jose Office
Position Overview
The Director Of Sales, San Jose Branch Office holds primary responsibility for the identification, development, and realization of revenue opportunities with enterprise, high tech and media & entertainment companies in the Bay Area. The position is responsible for both the strategy and execution of revenue capture and must demonstrate a strong acumen for tactical sales as well as more long-term business development. Where appropriate, the Director Sales & Business Development will establish third party teaming relationships to successfully capture sales opportunities, as well as leverage existing contracting vehicles and business relationships with prime contractors. It is expected that the ideal candidate will build out a organization to support these efforts.
Responsibilities
The position has ultimate accountability for development of a rich and healthy sales funnel and pipeline, as well as conversion of that pipeline into recognized revenue. The successful candidate will need to develop deep relationships with potential end customers as a means of understanding and influencing both current and future requirements. The Director Sales & Business Development will need to be well versed on all the products and services in order to think creatively about how to best meet customer requirements. The Director Sales & Business Development will be primarily measured on meaningful and sustainable new revenue and margin generated from the region. The position will have discrete annual goals and objectives for revenue, bookings/backlog, gross margin, and sales funnel and pipeline. In this capacity the Director Sales & Business Development is a lead missionary sales and business development hunter, focused on identifying opportunities for revenue growth in both the current year and beyond.
Requirements
The successful candidate will be a seasoned sales executive with a quantifiable track record of generating revenue from large complex government related technology and telecom procurements. Although this is a Director level position, the successful candidate will require a strong roll-up your sleeves work ethic and take a hands-on approach to driving opportunity capture and revenue growth.
Minimum 5years experience in CDN, telecom or infrastructure outsourcing
Significant experience working inside or with multiple enterprise or media & entertainment companies.
Proven track record in building out successful sales organizations
Track record of successful winning of large enterprise accounts
Extensive relationships with, and rolodex of, prospective customers in the high tech or media & entertainment community
Excellent negotiation, analytical, financial and organizational capabilities
Exemplary communication, including written, telephone and presentation
Local candidate strongly preferred
